GREAT HORNED OWLS RELEASE: The Roddies announced that their brand new Album, "Great Horned Owls," will be released this Spring at Milkboy Coffee Philadelphia on May 5th , and official release online on May 8th, 2012. The 11 song EP
showcases their signature rock sound with a bluesrock-folk vibe. Brett Kull produced, mixed and mastered the recording at Catapult Sound in North Wales. The songs are filled with harmonies, blues-rock riffs and an Americana rock feel. "It's our best stuff yet, we all can't wait for everyone to hear this music." said Rich, one of the identical twins who fronts the band. The musicianship and collective writing all led to the diverse music that you'll hear, from the strong CSNY like chorus' of "Temporary" and "Waves," the fast paced King Crimsonesque "Black Berry Rose," and the country harmony of "Hold On," which includes Katie Barbato on vocals. Lindsey McKay, one of the best young singers in the region, belts out a memorable vocal on "Where Did You Go?" a strong riding song that sounds like it would end a Martin Scorcese film. Jack Jeckot (Keys), Dan "Danjo" Collins (banjo), Jacque Varsalona (Vocals) all lended their individual color to the album as well, creating a glue that binds each song. The Roddies, who wrote all the music, were accomanied by Brett who played electric guitars, slide, lap steel and vocals on the tracks. "He was like the 6th Roddie on the album, he's an incredible mind and musician, the only difference is he comes from Viking blood."
The Album release show will feature every song on this album, as well as select songs from past albums with a full band set. The evening will also showcase The Doublewides (Jeremy Hollis, Phil D'Agostino, Chris Kasper, Jesse Lun), Katie Barbato, Dan Collins, Brett Kull, Lindsey McKay, Jack Jeckot and Railroad Fever May 5th, 8pm at Milkboy Coffee Philadelphia, tickets are limited and can be purchased directly here:

5 Stars "Iconic"
Monsters & Bugs
A science experiment creeps out of Philadelphia.“Given Song,” a lighthearted alt-rock track about nature, talks about taking care of the earth and appreciating all our planet has to offer. This track features “gritty” vocals with a hint of rustic country music. Don’t be afraid to play it around the campfire! This CD is wonderful! ~ Leslie Snyder
