THE RODDIES

The Roddies are a brotherly story of rock-n-roll.  The Rodowicz brothers, twins Fran and Rich, brother Keith, and their cousin Ray are from a long family history tree of music.  The boys grew up on the hard and melodical rock of Pink Floyd, Zeppelin as well as the vocal harmonies of The Beatles and guitar harmonies of the Allmans.  Their Grandfather was a musician in the 50's and 60's backing greats such as Artie Shaw and Frank Sinatra on touring gigs.  Their father played up and down the east coast branding the music overtones throughout their lives. Ray and Keith played in various bands while the twins were away near the Great Lakes playing ice hockey for school. The four finally sat down and brought their own musical talents together, jamming out after a family party.  The underlying blood line brought them together and music poured out.  Seven lucky years together and the guys continue to write and play their own version of a Northern bluesy rock.

The brothers started playing clubs and bars throughout Philadelphia from their first month together and started to write and record their own music.  6 months later they introduced a demo, mixing down at a friends studio.  With the 5 song LP they started getting airplay from Philadelphia's WXPN and WMMR.   College stations and online Podcasts started to invite them in to play their tunes, as well as getting songs on multiple CD compilations

Currently the band is set to release Monsters & Bugs.  The guys worked with Brett Kull (echolyn, Grey Eye Glances, Francis Dunnery) on the entire album, showcasing their own brand of rock n roll.  They've garnered comparisons to Will Hoge, The Black Crowes, The Band, Marshall Tucker, and more.... bluesy Rock N Roll.

QUOTES

“The band wears it’s classic rock influences on it’s sleeve…The Allman Brothers, tones of Beatles and Zeppelin are in there, as is the musical creativity of all four Roddies…”

–Philly Metro

“There’s something just warm and nostalgic about family members playing some good ol’ happy tunes together.  It’s cool that these four relatives happen to have musical talent and decided to form a band…obviously something good must be swimming through their gene pool..”

-Play Philly Magazine
